How To Access Roku Secret Menus

Roku devices have a fairly simple interface without too many settings to tweak. However, pressing a series of buttons on your Roku remote will open a Roku secret menu that provides additional information and settings that aren’t normally accessible. There are a number of these secret menus which offer channel information, Wi-Fi details, and more. Here’s how to access the Roku secret menus.

The Wireless secret menu lets you see information about the Wi-Fi connection to your Roku device. You can see information such as signal strength and channel information. To access the Wireless secret menu:

This menu allows you to customize your Roku interface and set up. This includes settings such as the default screenshot file format, whether scrollable ads are enabled, whether gaming remote pairing is on at boot, as well as resetting your added channels list. To access the Images and Ads menu:

This menu allows you to manually update your software and gives you the option to perform a factory reset. To access the Update and Reset secret menu:

The platform secret screen gives you information about your Roku device. This includes the device temperature, CPU speed, and IP address. From this hidden menu, you can also access other menus, such as the System Operations menu and the RF remote menu. To access the Platform secret menu:

The Channel Info secret menu provides information about the channels you have installed on your Roku device. This includes the version and build of those channels. To access the Channel Info secret menu:

The HDMI secret menu provides information on the resolutions and refresh rates that are supported by your device. To access the HDMI secret menu:

Unlike some of the other Roku secret menus, the Developer secret menu doesn’t provide any information. Its purpose is to allow you to enable the Developer Application Installer. Once you have done so, the Roku device will restart. You can then access the installer from a web browser by navigating to the IP address of your Roku device. To access the Developer secret menu:

This isn’t really a menu at all. It’s simply a code that will reboot your Roku device. Once you enter it, your Roku will no longer respond to the remote until it has completely rebooted. To reboot your Roku device:

This menu has been removed since the Roku OS 10.5 update. Since Roku devices update automatically, you can no longer access this menu, which allowed you to set the bit rate for streaming.

Accessing Roku secret menus allows you to gain information about your Roku device that isn’t available through the standard menus. You can also update or reset your device through a Roku secret menu. If you’re a Roku user, there are some great free Roku channels you can install. When you go overboard and find yourself with more channels than you can handle, you can delete Roku channels to keep things more manageable.
